Our Story

Built on Service,
Driven by Standards

Frontline Appliances started in 2016 with a simple idea: buy used appliances, refurbish them, and sell them at prices Tucson families could actually afford. What began in a small warehouse on Miracle Mile grew into something much bigger — a full-service appliance company offering refurbished, open-box, and brand-new units alongside expert repair services.

Our founder, a combat Marine veteran, built this company on the same principles that defined his service — discipline, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to doing the job right. Those values aren't marketing language. They're the foundation of every service call we make.

Today, Frontline is a lean, systematized operation serving thousands of Tucson-area families and businesses. Our technicians are MST and EPA certified, background-checked, and trained in-house to Frontline's standards. We service all major brands — from Sub-Zero and Viking to Whirlpool and Samsung — and we back every repair with a full 1-year parts and labor warranty.

We're not the cheapest option in town. We're the right one.

Young customer giving thumbs up in the Frontline Appliances aisle, 2016

Efren launched Frontline Appliances because he saw a problem that bothered him deeply: the appliance service industry had an accountability problem. Inconsistent quality, unreliable technicians, companies that overpromised and underdelivered — and customers who had no one to call back when something went wrong. He started Frontline to change that. The business began out of a small warehouse unit on Miracle Mile, buying used appliances, refurbishing them, and selling them at prices Tucson families could actually afford. In the early days, he'd rent a U-Haul trailer, drive to Phoenix, come back loaded with appliances, and start testing and refurbishing them the same day.

Yuri stepped away from a career in behavioral health to join Efren full-time. With both founders now in the business, Frontline gained the operational capacity to grow — and the partnership that would define the company's culture and direction for years to come.

The original Frontline Appliances warehouse with American and Marine Corps flags, 2018

Frontline made its first attempt at offering appliance repair services, then made the deliberate decision to pause. The demand was there — but the standards weren't met yet. The founders committed to a principle that still holds today: if a service is going to be offered under the Frontline name, it has to be done right.

The full Frontline Appliances showroom floor packed with ranges and refrigerators, 2019

As Frontline expanded into open-box appliances alongside refurbished units, the Miracle Mile warehouse couldn't contain the growth. The company relocated to a larger showroom on Alvernon Way, expanded into an additional unit, and grew the team to 12 employees. It was an exciting chapter — and an expensive one.

COVID-19 hit businesses hard. Frontline adapted, stayed open, and kept serving Tucson families. The disruption forced a hard look at how the business was running — and the founders started asking tougher questions about efficiency, waste, and what it really meant to build a sustainable company.

Frontline Appliances team members working together, 2021

A 12-person team sounds impressive — until you realize how much overhead, complexity, and waste comes with it. Frontline made the deliberate decision to get lean: fewer people, better systems, clearer roles, and higher standards. The goal wasn't to shrink — it was to get stronger. The team that remained was more capable, more efficient, and more invested than ever.

Four years after the first attempt, Frontline officially launched appliance repair services — this time backed by proper certifications, in-house training, and a clear standard of care. Efren led the certification process personally. In September 2022, Frontline expanded into the space now called the lobby and workshop, separating the repair operation from the showroom floor.

Frontline entered its next phase with a clear vision: a lean, systematized operation built to deliver consistent, high-quality service at scale. The company refined its processes, established measurable performance standards, and raised the bar for what it means to be a Frontline team member. The result is a business that's ready for whatever comes next.
